What Are Marriage Intensives?
Marriage intensives are a powerful, short-term format for couples counseling, specifically designed to achieve significant, accelerated progress far beyond the pace of traditional weekly therapy. They provide a concentrated, distraction-free environment—often held in a secluded, peaceful, and retreat-like setting—allowing couples to focus solely on their relationship. This continuous, dedicated time enables experienced therapists to quickly move past surface-level conflicts and dig deeply into the root causes of disharmony and pain. Within this safe and focused space, complex marital challenges, including infidelity, chronic conflict, and issues related to addiction, can be comprehensively and effectively addressed.
What Can I Expect?
We have the privilege of hosting our marriage retreats at Winshape Retreat located in Rome, GA. This set-apart location is tucked away in the forests of North Georgia. The French countryside-inspired design sets the stage to rest, heal, and be inspired to walk into something new. Most importantly, this is a place that is continually prayed over, which is why many of its visitors have commented that they feel as though they are on holy ground.
Our most sought-after retreat is our 4-day group intensive. This marriage intensive retreat is led by 2 licensed therapists trained to meet individuals and couples in the depths of trauma, infidelity, separation, unresolved communication and conflict, or in the throes of grief. Our groups are limited to 4 couples and include one-on-one time with a therapist while you are there.
While experience has demonstrated clearly the effectiveness of our group intensives, we do also offer private intensives catered specifically to a client’s needs. Our private intensives are also led by 2 licensed therapists and typically are scheduled for 3 days depending on the couple’s journey.
